Jane Fonda's not just cool, she's brave

From elayne williams, on Fri, 10 Dec 1999 08:39:18 GMT (in response to: Jane Fonda is cool you loser!)

Jane Fonda spoke out publicly, a brave thing. And she spoke out on many issues, but since so many of you seem to only focus on one issue, let's just take Vietnam. Why is it Hanoi Jane? Why not Hanoi Ramsey? Face it, the real threat, the only threat, Jane Fonda represents is because she's a woman. She challenges your opinions of the world and you reward her with dumb little titles like "Hanoi Jane." Learn your history, learn your world. And quit making up your lies (i.e. "Fonda handed the silver pins over and we all got beat"). Your a bunch of whiney liars who obviously never saw combat in Vietnam but like to pretend you did. If you had been in Vietnam and you had been visited by Jane Fonda, you'd realize why your lies are so obvious. So confess and know that God forgives. Follow Fonda's lead and apologize. You're all so filled with hate that you don't seem to even care that you're spewing lies. To get back to Fonda on the list of 100 Women, she was one of the gutsiest performers onscreen, I.P.C. (later renamed Fonda Films) was one of the few important indepent production companies, she overcame bulimia and shared her story to help others, she spoke out for migrant farm workers, for working mothers, and host of others. She's strong and she won't go away. (Exactly the reason you hate her. Get over it.)
