Protest

too young to know

From T Lewis, on Sat, 20 Jan 2001 04:33:47 GMT (in response to: This is brave?)

I was an infant during the Vietnam war, but I have to say that being a woman I still wouldn't have any first hand knowledge of what went on over there if I were of age then. So therefore we must listen and interpret the stories like these. This is how the history books were made. I'm not so naive that I would just say, "Well, of course it's true, he said it so." But I do believe that most of these stories would have to be true. How else could so many victims of this war have the same story? And by victims, I mean those who served and were forgotten. I get so outraged everytime I hear of another person who could have been helped but because someone chose to close their eyes to the truth, they suffered even more. I can't believe that someone who obviously knew so little about what was actually happening, could do so much damage to so many in such a short amount of time. I wonder how many deaths of American men are really on her hands. If she hadn't been so concerned about her appearance on camera, she may have actually been able to do some good for those men. I can't really say if I think that the United States should be fighting someone else's war, but once we start, I think everyone who is sent or may be sent deserves our love and support and pride in what we stand for. Not the disgrace that Jane Fonda brought this country and all those men who died to ensure that she could continue to have freedom of speech and everything else she's become accustomed to. Thank you to all our Veterans and to Hell with her.
