Vietnam- a waste?

I am a 14 year old student freshman in high school. I cant see why people think that Vietnam was a loss. America technically never lost a battle. Maybe our expectations were too high but generally I see that it was a major success. The domino theory was proven correct, and communism did not spread in Indochina.

My final point is, that The Vietnam Conflict was not a failure.
