I was simply trying to point out that every country or empire has done things in the not always so recent past that they are not proud of and I wish you would stop using the past as reasoning for your arguments about current and future issues such as the war with Iraq. I want to know your reasons for thinking it is unnecessary, not why you think we mmight lose, or whether or not fighting with terrorists and dictators will piss off the crazies, causing them to get evenmore loco. I was merely pointing out that yes we had done horrible things in the past but was hoping that like Me and other americans have done with the british empire and other countries you could set that aside and stop merely bashing the US and instead state a real case for or against the war with iraq. Sorry if I wasn't too clear but your anti-american sentiment has me a little pissed off. I guess you have made my case for me with the whole thing about the roman empire and the italians. I did not mean to tar Britain, merely point out that we have all made mistakes as defense for my own country against your anti-american attacks. As I have admitted in the past, our country's history leaves much to be desired. I recognize that not only were the settlers responsible for genocide of the indians (From what I understand of history (I could be mistaken, I am no expert) the count is not in the 1000's as you said but the overall count is rather rather in the 1,000,000's). I am sorry to have come across as bashing your country, my only gripe with some of your people is the very fact that they feel the need to bash us. I have never and would never call or think of you or anyone else as a "lying imperialist brit". For whatever has happened or people from my country have told you to make you think that I or other americans would feel this way I am sorry. Let me assure you that they do not represent our country as a whole. I guess what I am trying to say is that lets stop bringing each other down (that thing about the big nose, that really hurts... sniffle) and try to figure out the true issues at hand with the potential war with iraq. As for my not being educated, I am just a sophmore in college and am the first to admit that there are a lot of things I don't know. As for the US supplying Iraq, I simply think if this were such a widely known and easily proven fact then Someone somewhere would bring it to light for political reasons if nothing else. If you can prove it then I would appreciate it. I don't think you are right but I try to be open minded and would do my best to give your evidence a fair hearing. I, as I beleive would be the case with most other US citizens, would be outraged if that were the case.
