MYRTLE BEACH BUMS'cause down the shore everything's alright!

OK, you're new in town, you're from the north and just about everyone in Myrtle Beach is from the south and while we all speak English there are a few things you should know before heading out.
  • 17 Business and 17 Bypass - Seems simple enough right?  Not really, this is what the locals call these two highways but it's not what the signs always say.  17 Business will sometimes be noted as 17 Business but it's also know as North King's Highway.  17 Bypass is just plain 'ol 17.  Good luck finding a sign that says Bypass, they don't exist!
  • The Iced Tea Dilemma - If you're looking for sweetened iced tea you want to order Sweet Tea.  Just ordering iced tea will have you stirring sugar packets that refuse to dissolve in cold tea.  You definitely get what you ask for, this is a good thing!
  • Read the fine print!  If you're looking to order a sub to take to the beach be sure to pay close attention to what they stick on it.  In New Jersey you sometimes have to be wary of someone sticking mayonnaise on your sub.  In the south, that isn't the only danger.  They are also prone to sticking mustard on your sandwich.  Sorry, but this just isn't natural.  You've been warned!
