When I first arrived in South Carolina I had to learn how to shop in the south.  If you're looking for the typical New Jersey style mall you could be looking for quite awhile.  However, while true malls are scarce (except for the new Coastal Grand Mall...yeah!) there are plenty of great outlets that offer a wide variety of shopping options!
