My father served in Vietnam and I am very proud of him. To hear him speak of the war is painful for both of us. I wish that the people who spit on him and shunned him could see how much he still longs for the acceptance of his duty. If they really knew what went on they might have had a different view. I know that it was a painful experience, but coming home should not have been more painful. Afterall, we only do what the government tells us is right. My dad served for what the government said was right. He should be applauded, along with all Vietnam veterans, for their outstanding bravery.
