Virtual Tour: Admissions[Next] __ [Previous] __ [Overview] __ [Help] __ [More Info] |
There is no such thing as a "typical" Seton Hall student;
our students have a wonderful variety of backgrounds,
styles, beliefs, appearances and personalities. The Office of
Admissions respects this dedication to diversity, therefore we
review each application carefully and personally. Some
applications are reviewed for hours by the Committee of Admissions
before a decision is rendered!
If you decide to apply to Seton Hall, you should know there are certain admission requirements that we don't often waive; for instance, you really need to complete 16 academic units in high school. These are:
English | 4 units |
Social Studies | 2 units |
Foreign Language | 2 units |
Algebra 1 | 1 unit |
Plane Geometry | 1 unit |
Algebra 2 | 1 unit |
Science (laboratory) | 1 unit |
Approved Electives | 4 units |
You also must earn an accredited secondary school diploma (a
secondary school equivalency diploma may submitted be as well). We
do require that you submit standardized test score results; the SAT
or ACT scores fit this requirement. (If you are an international
applicant whose first language is not English, the TOEFL should
also be submitted.) Seton Hall believes test scores are best
evaluated in the context of the overall secondary school record,
and while there is no minimum score required, you might want to
consider this about our enrolled students: we anticipate that the
middle 50% recentered range for SAT scores will be approximately
960 to 1150 combined, and ACT composite scores typically range
between 20 and 24.
Seton Hall uses a rolling admissions process, and we accept students regardless of their ability to pay.
You are strongly encouraged to visit the Seton Hall campus in
person, and although an interview is not required, we recommend you
schedule one. If you want to be contacted by an admissions staff
member to arrange a visit and/or tour, please
Seton Hall is a member of the National Association for College
Admission Counseling.
The University actively seeks qualified persons of varied races
cultures, experiences and national backgrounds. Qualified students
are admitted without regard to race, color, religion, age,
disability, national origin, sexual orientation, ancestry, or
gender. Seton Hall University is an equal opportunity/affirmative
action institution. The University will make whatever arrangements
are necessary to ensure that students with physical disabilities
have the same opportunities on campus as those students without
physical disabilities.
