Note:
  • All pages in this tour are optimized for Netscape, version 2 (if you are using another program to surf the net, consider downloading Netscape 2 now). Other web browsers should also allow you to visit our campus, but results may vary.
  • This tour makes use of QuickTime Virtual Reality software that can be downloaded from Apple (see below for instructions). Our tour also uses Java applets and audio clips, so make sure your browser is configured to handle those items.
  • If you are going to download any software, make sure that you have configured your Web browser with your username and electronic mail address - otherwise downloading software may not work.

Setting up Quicktime and Quicktime VR

Quicktime allows you to view movie clips, and Quicktime VR (for Virtual Reality) allows you to look around a virtual scene by using the mouse and keyboard. For more info on Quicktime and Quicktime VR, including information about how to download the program, visit the Apple Quicktime VR home site and follow their links for downloading the software for Windows 3.1, Windows 95, or a Macintosh. After downloading and installing the software, you can return to our Virtual Open Hous and view our VR scenes.

Tips for using our Virtual Open House

    • To get the most of our Virtual Open House you need to use a Web browser that can handle JavaScript and Java applets. Netscape version 2 is the best browser for that; if you don't use it you should download it now.

    • To see the Java applets, you must be using Netscape 2 for Windows 95 or for Macintosh. The current version of Netscape does not support Java applets for Windows 3.1 (JavaScript, however, is supported on every platform).

    • A few Audio Clips are available in our Virtual Open House; your computer should be equipped with speakers and a sound card to play those clips. If not, you may see an error message informing you that no audio device is available. Just ignore that message (or purchase a sound card for your system).

    • To see the QuickTime VR scence, you must download Apple's Quicktime Program; see above for details. Once you download it, click on a link saying virtual reality or displaying the Quicktime VR logo to view a VR scene. Once you see the scene on your computer, click and hold the mouse inside the picture and move it around - your view will change accordingly, and you can move around in the virtual scene. You can also zoom in and zoom out by pressing either the SHIFT or the CONTROL key (for Windows), or the CONTROL or OPTIONS keys (for Macintosh). Here is a sample QuickTime VR scene you can use to test your QuickTime VR software.
