40 pts	A. In-class participation - this course is based on vocal exercises explored in class. Your full participation in these exercises is mandatory for passing this course.
20 pts	B. Oral Presentation - Prose
20 pts	C. Midterm - Diction Tape
20 pts	D. Quizzes - based on the International Phonetic Alphabet
20 pts	E. Final Exam - Oral presentation - poetry
20 pts	F. Productions - attendance at two Theatre-in-the-Round productions

G. Attendance - Inasmuch as this class is based on learned skills, your presence is absolutely necessary. Absence from a technique class such as this for even one session invalidates the progressive development of your work. YOU CANNOT MAKE UP WORK in this type of situation. YOUSIMPLY CANNOT BE ABSENT. Unexcused absences will affect yourgrade. Please consider the following before you choose to stay with the course:

• 1-2 absences - no effect on grade
• 3 absences - grade drops by one (A becomes B, etc.)
• 4 absences - grade drops by two (A becomes C, etc.)
• 5 absences - grade drops by three (A becomes D, etc.)
• More than 5 absences constitutes an automatic F.
