The most Beautiful Place on Earth

How can I express in words the beauty of my homeland? Viet Nam is truly one of the most gorgeous places on Earth. Imagine having a jungle in your backyard, being lulled to sleep as a child by the sounds of the rivers, of birds and tigers, of jungle insects (before the war). I remember the rice fields, the trips down the rivers, the lovely beaches. Even when the war came the beauty of Viet Nam could not be robbed. It is sad, however, that the tigers have all but vanished, that unexploded bombs now lurk where children play, and that the landscape is scarred with crater ponds. No matter what, though, Viet Nam will always remain sacred in my heart and to me the most beautiful place in existance.
