Yeah, I remember that one.
I remember watching the smoke rise as I stood outside the barracks in my underware, me and some other guys, all drinking beer. Yeah, you're right, at least in 70-71, once one or two hit, it was all over, no need to put on flak jackets or dive for cover. Hey, I worked right next to you, also in Life Support (or Protective Equipment). I worked for the 135th TFS, Black Panthers. I had buddy who I went through Chanute tech school with, name of Malone "The Choker," who worked in Life Support at Phan Rang, can't remember his squadron, but it was directly behind the 135th. Did you get to go to the Jungle Survival School in the Phillipines? Cool: bamboo pressure cookers, E&E, Negritos and all.
