another Happy Valley alumni

From John McFadden, on Thu, 10 Jul 2003 21:44:35 GMT (in response to: PHAN RANG, PROUD TO HAVE SERVED THERE IN DEC. '67 - DEC '68)

I served across the base with the 35th TFW. Worked in the A&E shop as well as the debriefing shack next to the F-100 fuel pits. Debriefed the F-100 & B-57 aircrews for maintainance problems.

Served from July 1, 68 thru June 30, 69. I was just a one-termer, released from active duty upon my return to the states (after 3 years, 7 months, and 26 days). I currently live in Eugene, but I'm from Philadelphia originally. With the same last name, I'm wondering if we might be distantly related somewhere down the line. I'm in Eugene (541-689-2610) if you want to talk (Sunday afternoon's the best time).

I only stayed in contact with one of my buddies from Phan Rang, he lives in Florida. We talk on the phone every now and then. Saw him on a trip out there two years ago. We played music together in Nam and when we got out the guitars, it was like it'd been only a few months instead of 30 years since we'd played together.

Call or email me sometime.
