From Bernie Doherty, on Thu, 07 Mar 2002 02:25:31 GMT (in response to: F100 crew chief of tail #383 "thunderchicken")
I sure remember you Charlie. I'm Bernie Doherty and was from Jersey City at the time. Got there in July of 1970 and left July 1971, when virtually all the "lead sled" F-100's were retired. The squadron was the 615th TFS. I crew chiefed tail number 578, a D model which was lost over Laos late in my tour. Do I recall correctly that 952 was a two seat F model? Anyway the highlight of the tour was the seven day R & R in Sydney Australia. The same Lt. Charlie Sublette bought me a couple of drinks in a Sydney saloon. I hope you're well and wish you the best of luck.
