John Shilling: Re: the construction of CRB AFB, the runways were thickened at the touch-down areas to take damaged B-52's. RMK-BRJ was a consortium of the major construction companies: Raymond, Morrison-Knudsen, Brown & Root, & Jones - RMK-BRJ's office was in Burlingame, CA. Vinnell Co., also at CRB, was the company comprised largely of Korean workers, & was involved in the construction of other areas on CRB.
You might enjoy reading my book, 'April Fools'(see attachment)to read of Cam Ranh Bay after June 1972 & of the tremendous refugee evacuation effort from there in April 1975 before Saigon went down.
