McNamara, under Johnson, ordered the study. It became known as the "Pentagon Papers". One of the 30 analysts who compiled it was ex-marine/ Viet Vet Daniel Ellsberg. He knowingly risked going to prison by leaking those.
He is one of the very few heroes of US involvement in Viet Nam--and that because he helped expose the lie and end it. Meanwhile, "hero" Nixon has his gang of fascists, the "Plumbers," burglarize his psychiatrist's office in effort to find a way to discredit him and the truth.
Again, welcome home.
