I served in Vietnam. I was from an upper middle class family. I volunteered for duty in Vietnam while serving at European Command Headquarters in Paris. I believed the war was just. You say not to make a "class war out of this". I have to disagree with you. The vast majority of those who served in combat were from the working lower class. Yes, many lower class indididuals did avoid serving in Vietnam, but to dispute the fact that the war was faught mainly by the lower class (income, because most of the men I served with had REAL "class") would be foolish. It's a FACT. But I understand what you have put in words and do see your point of view. I'm too used up to be nasty to you. I could be nasty in response to your note, but to what end? You simply have a different point of view. God bless you for that! Sam Papalia
