I graduated from high school in 1968. While standing in line for graduation the word passed down the line that Jerry was dead - the war had come home for me. The next 4 years the war defined who we were, how we would run our days, who we would align ourselves with and the hope (or not hope) we felt about the future. From growing up believing in our country we grew to see the government as aligned with Dow chemical and other war profiteers. Power versus powerless drove us into the streets -- until Kent State in 1970. After that, depression set it.
