I am not saying that Viet Nam ended up a beter place because of The Viet Cong, not at all. Perhaps at the time I was naive to believe they would, stupid even, but I am getting tired of trying to justify my actions years ago. All I wanted to do was show what it was like for us back then. I was too young at the time to have had a say in the government, but I can tell you that in 1954 my parents did not know what Communism was. They would have, however, voted for Uncle Ho because he promised freedom, which was all my parents wanted. It is not fair of you to condemn me for wanting freedom. So freedom was not to be found with Ho, but at the time it seemed like the only chance. I was born in 1950, prime for Viet Cong conquest, so young, and full of excitement for what my parents said would bring me and my brothers a new life. I am not an evil person. The war was evil, the deception of the Viet Cong, evil, but not the people who only wanted freedom. I am sorry that you cannot understand, but this is how it was for me, and no I WILL NOT GO AWAY!!
