Montagnards

Interested in Montagnard languages

From Robert Hayden, on Sat, 29 Jan 2000 06:46:22 GMT

Thank you for the opportunity you have offered with your newsgroup.

I am a student of history with a great interest in the minority cultures of Southeast Asia. I volunteer for a Milwaukee tutoring center which teaches English and urban living skills to adult Hmong of refugee origin. One of my friends was a military engineer in Vietnam, who spent time in the Central Highlands among Montagnard peoples.

I am looking for resources, books, tapes etc. on learning Montagnard languages (Jarai, Cham, etc.). Please inform me of any publishers, mission houses etc. who have researched and disseminated this knowledge.

Thank you very much for your consideration. I appreciated the many stories and am glad that others have taken interest in these fascinating cultures.
