Although I have not the slightest idea what those soldiers went through in Vietnam, I sympathise with their plight of coming home to face the brunt of reactionary public opinion, and be branded as scapegoats - it was, after all the government of the day whom they were angry with. But hold on! You call those people "hippy bastards" in the same way as they attacked the veterans for being war-mongerers. It's easy for people to jump on the bandwagon when they want ready-made answers. There were atrocities committed out there, I daresay, but shame on those civilians who targetted the veterans in such a sweeping, thoughtless and selfish way. The mob-mentality isn't confined to the plebian masses, since most of those "hippy bastards" were probably middle-Americans.
