Our people help fight alongside the U.S. because we were told that the U.S. would win and if anything goes wrong, they would protect us in many ways. We were so naive and believed and so we fought alongside the Americans. We hid them, we cured them, we bound their wounds, we rescued them from their crashed planes, we fed them, we cared for them...and when they abandoned us, it was the most greatest betrayal because we were alone fighting a war which we didn't even started. We still thought that the U.S. would keep their promises of "safety"...but they didn't. We were seen as traitors, hunted down, our women and daughters were raped and killed-all because the U.S. tricked us into helping them fight this "Secret War". It hurts the majority of the Hmong community to know that we are not respected and that the Americans here all don't know what great role we played in their history. You have a way to honor all those lives that were taken during the war, but our names are not even shared up on that great Memorial Wall. If it wasn't for our people, that wall would have been twice as long. So please, the American community, give us some props.
