Truth

The last few postings in this thread are very true. War is not nice and yes sometimes someone has to go and fight for their beliefs.

However, some wars are fought so the government in trouble can detract from it's own misgivings and failings.

The vietnam war was not about protecting america it was about stopping the spread of communism. (is that a good think or a bad thing you decide). However, america has a nasty habit of promising the world but when it no longer suits america it just buggers off.

Vieatnam. The marsh people in Iraq after desert storm. Al Qeada and the Taliban in afganistan in the soviet Afgan war of the 1980's. Iran before and after the Islamic revolution.

Yes, the British empire did some awful things too, but we have learned something from them, why don't you learn from our mistakes before it is too late.
