From Braxton, on Sat, 07 Jun 1997 18:36:24 GMT (in response to: WELCOME HOME!)
I must say to the writer of "Welcome Home" that your posting was simple and wise. To all former hippies who set aside compassion for their own to let themselves frolic in a pool of mock-intellectual feces, more concerned with their "cool-guy" image and "peace and love" philosophy than with "welcoming home" brothers, friends and neighbors from a long and bloody war, I have one question. How is it that you could have been so completely stupid? I mean, did you really think that the returning infantry soldier you spat on had initiated the war or had in any way been responsible for the creation of it? A lot of those guys had a very "chevy and apple pie" view of the government and came from very patriotic small towns with roots of service going back generations. You who claimed to be so educated and enlightened didn't even have the basic good sense enough to show a little respect for the war weary. No, you were so caught up in yourselves and your "God, it's so tough to be such a guru of life" mentality that you actually thought YOU were the victims. Any shit-bag ex-hippie who has the gall to say "we were all victims" should have his jaw wired shut. I'm so sick of hearing that. "It was a tough time for us all," you say. Well, I disagree, home-boy! While good men walked daily in death's Disney World, the only thing you had to fear was getting busted with your dope! How in the fuck do you make that connection? If you were as smart as you thought you were you would have known that the real culprits of war were and are a group of international bankers who finance both sides of a given conflict. War is a money machine for these men and they are indeed the eye of the octopus of government. WW1, WW2, the stock market crash, VNam, you name it... they are behnd it. I'll bet you didn't know that international bankers in the United States financed Hitlers war machine in WW2, did you? What, you don't believe it's true? No, I didn't think you would. It was far easier for you to kick some shell-shocked G.I. in the nuts than to actually have to think... strange thing, coming from the "enlightened" crowd. Well, thank God that society looks back on your movement and laughs. It is now nothing more than good material for comedy skits and "long hair" jokes. Your mistake was a big one and you were as wrong as any group of people has ever been so don't even try to downplay it like you were misled by the evil bastard Nixon or who ever else you might look to to shoulder some of your much deserved blame. Shame on you for making up excuses upon excuses about your victimization and never just finding the balls to say "I'm sorry, I was wrong."
