exactly what shit is!

From Kimberly, on Tue, 02 Dec 1997 23:24:32 GMT (in response to: I'll tell you exactly what shit is!)

Shit is how everyone seemed to have forgotten that the War was about S. Vietnam fighting for their freedom against the Communist. Through the years, I've heard so many stories about how the U.S. should've done this, or how the U.S. lost so many lives, how so many American lives were torn apart, blah, blah, blah. Yet, has anyone stopped to remember the Vietnamese? You, Americans sit here in your nice warm houses and bitch and complain about what the government did and how you lost so much. Well, what about the people who had their lives literally BLOWN apart? Who had generations of family wiped out completely. Who didn't just lose their father,or brother, or uncle, but everyone of their whole family? You sit there, able to watch what happened, as these people had every thing taken away from them. Now, when everything is over, you want us to pay tribute to your soldiers who served. I commend you. They are worth the tribute. Yet,let me remind you..at least they had something to come home to.The Vietnamese had their whole life destoyed. Blown to pieces. With nothing to return to. At least, the American soldiers had a FREE nation to come home to. And the Vietnamese, what did they have? The U.S. didn't lose the war. The Vietnamese did. So, when you think of how much you lost because of this war. Think again. You still have your family, your life, your homes, your cars, and all the wonders the U.S. provides. And most of all, you still have your FREEDOM. And that's why they fought.
