Actually the "history" was and still is about power

From Rick, on Tue, 02 Jun 1998 07:51:24 GMT (in response to: Know your history)

I already vented in my response just before this. So what am I here for again? Well I'll tell yeah. You know what the Vietnam War was really about? Nobody really gets it to this day... but some people knew full good and well back in the late 50's and 60's kids. I power brokers in the U.S. didn't give a damn about communisum and the 'domino effect' kids. The Vietnam War was all about OIL!! Yes oil, liquid gold, cash for the fat cats. Don't you all realize why we are "normalizing" relations with Vietnam? Because, off the coast of Vietnam is one of the worlds largest untapped oil deposits. And yes, it was known back in the 1950's. The power people did NOT want to loose those reserves to the communist countries. Case you didn't notice the Vietnam War sort of wound down as the North Sea and the Alaskian oil fields were being explored. Suddenly those South China Seas oil fields weren't so important. You people who like to research history behind the sceens, why don't you go dig into the secret paper trails that must exhist concerning South China Sea oil... Bet this blows your minds Eh?
