From Mandy Taylor, on Thu, 17 Sep 1998 04:04:50 GMT (in response to: Vietnam Veterans are Heroes)
I am a first year student at Angelo State University. What little bit of information I learned in high school, along with a few stories I heard first hand, does not leave me with a great knowledge of Vietnam. The most significant aspect of this horrific war is perhaps what they couldn't teach me in school. The enormous pain that was endured by our men and women over seas is more than could ever be taught out of a book. I have tremendous respect and a barrel full of love for all our men and women who served in Vietnam. I will keep all of you in my prayers forever, especially one of you. My dad, Tim Taylor, AKA "Doc Holiday," was a med-tech in the war. Being only 18, I only know the kind of man my dad is now. Even though my mom and him split many years ago, I have never lost any love for my dad. In my eyes he is one of the most couragous men I have ever known. He is my DOW:Daddy of War. (No disrespect towards POW.) For all of you other moms and dads of war, God Bless You All! Your children love you no mater what happens!
