There is no way to make up for the war. No matter how many people give their lives for vengeance there still will be none. Would more dead people bring back the dead, or erase the nightmares? No. They would just create new ones. the only thing I think can be done is to remember those who died as they were, and to prevent anything like the war from ever happening again. No one who ever went through anything that horrible should ever wish it upon anyone, and it should be ensured that no one must ever bear that mark.
