What did we get out of Vietnam? Hmmmmmm...... I'll tell you what I got - SHOT! MORTARED! Oh, and a nice panic disorder which I suffer to this day.

Hey listen, there ARE many different opinions regarding the war. You know what? All are valid. But we DID learn something from the war. Never again, God willing, we will enter a war which we can't win or at least be allowed the chance to win. The Gulf War proves this. Let's hope so. Let's hope we never have to go to war again. Someone made a statement that the men over there doing the fighting didn't know what was going on. We did. The officers were not the only individuals in the know. I was there in '66 & '67. The thinking then was much different than in the later years of the war. I remember so well coming home after my 12 months there, and watching the the war on the evening news and thinking, "what a waste". I'm not out to prove anything. I went, I served, I survived. I was lucky. This is a debate which will never end. God bless you all. Sam
