HI, Kelly, I was a combat photgrapher in VN 1968-69 and it was a very individual experience for me. I had to document combat missions, relocations, air strikes, search and destroy missions, rural village life, award ceremonies, pacification programs, etc etc... I am currently bringing my surviving photos (over 300) to some publishers along with story lines about them. Most of the shots the 22 Army Combat Photographers took were archived and destroyed. (there's a rub for you... we were skilled enough to go out there and take pictures of the war, some of us were killed for them, most of us were wounded, all of us were permanently scarred by our experience, and the pix were destroyed!) I was in VA outreach programs for over 10 years, diagnosed with PTSD, in and out of jobs like a revolving door, did not have too much trust in authority was the analysis. But I did pull it together finally... went to the Landmark Education Forum and have been able to put my past where it belongs, in the past, and my life is my own again. I would like to hear from you and find out how your friends are doing....thanks for the interest.
