Microsoft Robotics Studio

Microsoft Robotics Studio is under heavy development. The officially released version at the moment is 2.0 and an "Express" version is available for free. Check the Microsoft Robotics web site for any updates, to be sure.

• Download and install Microsoft Robotics Developer Studio 2008 Express Edition

Accept the defaults for a Typical installation. Towards the end of the installation you might be prompted (don't worry if you're not) to install the AGEIA PhysX engine, which you should do - hopefully all will go well.

Note: You will need to adjust the Visual Programming Language executable to "Run as Administrator" if you are using MS Vista, otherwise you will get error messages about port 50000 not available!

Robotics Studio 2008 benefits from any version of Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 - you should at least install the C# and maybe CPP software. You can, for example, download the free Express version here. At this time, though, you do not need to worry about this.
