THE CORONATION OF POPE PAUL VI

The last papal coronation took place on June 30, 1963.  The triple-crowned tiara was placed on his head by the senior Cardinal Deacon, Alfredo Ottaviani.  The crown was a gift of the people of Milan.  It was later donated by the pope to the poor of the world and today is on display at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC.
