Problem recognition:

Ask, What is the problem?

What are we trying to accomplish?

Structured v. unstructured:

Sometimes it is clear what the problem is.

Other times the problem is a puzzle, unstructured.

We need to define the problem.

Problem interpretation

Identify objectives

Make pre-decisions.

How are we going to decide?

Consensus?

Majority rules

Boss will decide.

Identify alternative courses of action

Ethics questions:

Is this a decision that could survive exposure?

Implement and evaluate (called feedback loop)

Often people believe solutions are self-implementing. Not So.

You need an implementation plan strategy.
