Community Health Education Project
Directions:
1. Groups of students will prepare and present a health education project at SHU's Health Fair on Wednesday March 24, 1999
2. Select a health education topic that will be interesting for you and meaningful for the SHU community.
3. Work in groups of 2 or 3. Each group shall select a different topic. If more than one group selects the same topic, they will be asked to change.
4. Draft objectives / learner outcomes for your project.
5. Obtain health teaching materials related to your topic from appropriate agencies, internet.
6. Prepare an attractive health education poster and display.
7. Select health education materials and calculate the SMOG reading grade level of each item ( Smith & Maurer pp. 462-463).
8. Assemble about 50 copies for distribution.
9. Arrange for your poster to be set up the morning of the health fair.
10. Spend 2 hours at the health fair. Keep track of the numbers of persons served, questions, reactions, etc.
11. Prepare and submit a brief written summary of your project.
