Taping will be optional. IF you want a record of your presentation, bring your personal recording device or your cued-up audiotape. It should be cued so that it does not erase any previous tapings/practice sessions.

If you need other types of Audio-Visual aids other than the LCD computer projector, a cassette player, or a VCR/TV/DVD (e.g. if you need an overhead projector, an opaque projector, or similar materials) you will need to ask your professor to reserve those through the Media Center (X9554) at least 48 hours prior to your presentation day.

N.B. The Persuasive Presentation uses a "Panel of (Expert) Evaluators" procedure -- this time each designated evaluator is assigned to comment on all or several of that day’s speakers but only in reference to one particular, performance/skill area. This time evaluators will receive an evaluation sheet to use & will have an opportunity to summarize their comments orally as part of a post mortem discussion at the completion of that day's presentations.

>>> Class Procedure for Presentation Days:

1. All speech outlines {revised , hardcopy versions} for that day's speakers will be collected.

2. Evaluation Sheets will be distributed to that day's designated Written Evaluators. [panel of experts]

3. The designated Tape Recorder operator will "set up" the equipment, if needed

4. Using a volunteer method, each speaker will deliver his/her presentation -- First, handing his/her CUED-UP cassette tape to the designated Tape Recorder operator. Presenters using the computer projector should volunteer to speak "adjacent" to each other.

5. At the end of the day's presentation , Evaluators will have submit their written comments which eventually will be passed on to the respective speakers. IF there is time, evaluators also will summarize their comments orally.

ADDITIONAL REMINDERS:

**EXCEPT FOR THE SPEAKERS SCHEDULED FOR 12/1/08, the hardcopy of your outline packet [the extemp. outline + the biblio + explanatory paragraph ] is due ONE SESSION before your scheduled presentation day.

Review the basic guidelines that were in effect for the previous speeches this semester.

You are encouraged to bring "Guests" to class on these Presentation Days.

As always, be sure your presentation (including any "presentation aids") falls within the time limits. Use your extra time to develop your proposition, not for loading in more points. Also, be aware that your grade will be if you are appreciably less than 6 min. or more than 8 min.

The Proxima Projector will be reserved for all days. However, speakers planning to use it for this presentation will need to set up & prepare to speak first.--so be sure to get to class a little early.
