PREPARATION TIPS:

      1. Refer to your scores/feedback you received from your 2 online quizzes.

2. Complete the  5   assigned above  "Advance Questions as indicated here &  in your course calendar.  Please note, the first & second items are to be submitted directly into MindTap.  There are two advance notice items and one item to complete in advance, cut & paste.

(if the above link to the advance questions  doesn't work) You also can find the specifications for your advance questions-- located in your course calendar in the row next to the specified test date & at the bottom of the calendar.

Don't wait until the last minute to look at these specifications and questions. They all are relatively complex and, you should allow yourself enough time to complete them correctly and to ask for any needed clarification.

 3. Review assigned chapters & slide shows & carefully review your notes taken in class.

 EXAM  FORMAT:

As always, you will be expected to use "your own words" in your answers.

The online test's questions will include some mixture of Terminology definitions, Short answer,  Essay types and a few Multiple choice questions as well.  Be prepared to explain, to analyze, to compare+contrast, and to demonstrate the concepts.

for the advance questions - The  points for the MindTap quizzes will be incorporated with the points on the written exam.

Please note, Blackboard sometimes "times you out" when you are working in it for a long time. One workaround is to SAVE (Not "submit") your work at regular intervals.  I will be at a conference during the Exam posting time so I may have the ability to check in &/or troubleshoot.

     AREAS-TO-STUDY:

This exam will focus on the areas/chapters listed here--some of which were also part of your online quizzes.

As  of now, the planned emphasis for this test will be on the information & related notes pertaining to:  Chapters 11, 12, 13, 14  & the ability to  demonstrate  Speech Construction Procedures. Also, you can expect to see some of the very basic terms/general concepts  from Chaps 1,2,3,4,15 & 16 (e.g. context, audience-centeredness, dating and indexing via language, perception checking,  , high/low context,  conversational quality, extemporaneous delivery, speaking to inform, nonverbal communication  etc)

Some of the questions will be repeats from online Quizzes #1 & 2

Also watch your e-mail for possible updates.
