► ASSIGNMENT GOAL: To increase your awareness & sensitivity about some of the ways (both obvious & subtle) by which the word choices we make when communicating can affect meaning & understanding
►BASIC PROCEDURE: In
most cases, the same
investigative task is assigned to several people.
Nevertheless, this is an
INDIVIDUAL assignment.
EACH
person should bring his/her own
NEWSPAPER/MAGAZINE clipping to class on the date specified above.
Clippings will be compared & discussed via small groups.
IF YOU FOUND YOUR EXAMPLE ON THE
INTERNET, BE SURE TO GET LOGGED ON TO NETWORK IN ORDER TO
ACCESS IT FOR THE IN -CLASS GROUP WORK.
