Below are your areas of "focus"  for the mini-demonstrations to be presented in our upcoming class sessions on Listening Basics: Principles & Techniques.  You  & your listed partner should prepare to EXPLAIN , DISCUSS  & DEMONSTRATE  the particular factors listed for you below. Most people have  been assigned to 2 items:  These concepts are all discussed in Chapter 7 [6e] / Chapter 8 [5e]   (= Ch6 in 4e & 3e) .

Whatever Principle you have been assigned, you can follow this procedure:

<1> Together  ( either in person or via email/IM/phone) review what your text has to say about that specified  PRINCIPLE/CONCEPT/ TECHNIQUE  in order to ensure that you really understand what it means.

<2> Next, you & your partner should devise a (creative) way to demonstrate/illustrate to the class the Characteristics &/or Significant Factors connected with that term (e.g. via a skit / roleplay / audience participation, etc.)

<3> These EXPLANATIONS+DEMONSTRATIONS should actively involve both partners & should be 4 - 6 minutes long. Note that Explanation portion should take up no more than  approx. 1/2 of the time slot & should be done using your own words-- not simply repeating phrasing from the text.

<4> These EXPLANATIONS+DEMONSTRATIONS should be "ready to go" at any time since the actual presentration will  be done a few at a time throughout several class sessions.
