[21 slots/19 17 presenters]  // slot request deadline = 4/15/20-7pm

S'20 Avoid using videoclips ( it's not possible to guarantee the audio will work). However, slide shows or still images are OK. Presentations will be given in Blackboard Collaborate. Presenters  will be promoted to "presenter " status so they can turn on their cameras & can share their desktops.
At least 50% of your presentation should be us seeing you talk to us. Slides can be used,  but for no more than a total of 50% of your presentation time.

activity rationale = an opportunity to share your findings with the class, as acquired through your various contracted  research projects & papers this semester.}

activity procedure =

* Each individual should select an oral presentation format: A / B / C [see explanations below]

* Each individual will receive  6-8   minutes {+ brief Q&A} in order to give a presentation to the class.

*All presentations should make use of effective Oral Presentational  techniques [as you learned in COST1600/1500]. This means you should be focused,  prepared, rehearsed,  & should use extemporaneous delivery.  You will be stopped if you go overtime.

*S'20:  Because these all will be virtual presentations,  it is necessary to limit the use of visual/presentation aids--unless it's something you are holding up in front of you. At least 50% of your presentation shouldbe us seeing you talk to us. Slides can be used but no more than a total of 50% of your presentation time.

* If you want to use any visual aids other than a computer projector or a DVD- TV, be sure to let me know ASAP.

PRESENTATION FORMAT OPTIONS =

Your presentation can take any one of these 3 approaches:

> Version A{i.e. general things you've learned}: In this format ,you will discuss the 1-2 most important/striking/significant/useful things you learned via doing the contracted investigative projects this semester. Your discussion of these general INSIGHTS into human communication should be supported with details from the project(s) & by cross referencing with findings discussed in the text.  You may even want to revisit something you created earlier in the semester (e.g. revised  shield or new ways of dealing with your family)

 > Version B {i.e. specific projects}: In this format you will discuss 1-2 of your specific projects out of the ones  that you completed for this course.  I would expect that you would choose to share those which gave you the most INSIGHT and/or personal growth.

 >Version C {i.e. background concepts}:  In this format you will discuss 1-2 of the background course concepts/principles underlying one particular project  [ex: Project #1 is built upon the background concepts of  Perception & Self-Concept,  Project #2 is built upon Systems Theory+Family Communication,  Projects #3 is built upon Nonverbal,  etc. ]. You should also comment on how your findings did (or didn't) support what the readings on the underlying concept would have led you to expect.
