A Writing Process to Revise Essay II
1. Create scene (instead of story summary).
2. Read the details with your imagination and analytical minds and see what you learn
about becoming a boy/man or woman/girl.
3. Further revise your story to include the details that reveal this new theme you
discover.
4. Write a story that engages and entertains through action and dialogue (like "Two
Kinds" engaged you) but that has details that get the reader thinking about gender.
(Focus on story here, not on reflection, in the essay itself. We'll do lots of reflecting
in essay III.)
