Written October 2005
(revised 6/2007)

My personal goals are as follows:

  • To prioritize, love, and enjoy my family while I simultaneously move and work toward my professional goals
  • To continue to cultivate friendships and my social life with all of the above
  • To maintain a standard of excellence, integrity, and compassion in my work/ vocation
  • In all these things remain a worshipper of Christ – a pilgrim on a journey

Personal Mission Statement
written October 2005

It is my desire to love the Lord my God completely, with all of my heart  (soul and spirit) and all of my mind.  To love my family unconditionally, giving to them in a manner that each one may be built up in love, and become all that He has fashioned them to be.

Believing that God has made me to be a servant leader, I desire to lead with love, integrity, wisdom, and compassion.

May my life be one of knowing His love for me, hearing His voice (metaphorically speaking), knowing His will, obeying it, and choosing my focus.  I choose to count and focus upon the blessings in my life, not the heartaches and disappointments.  I desire to cultivate an attitude of gratitude.  In the quiet privacy of my devotional life (the God-times) may I deal with any issues that arise in my own heart of bitterness, anger and un-forgiveness, rooting them out, keeping myself humble. To this end may my heart and motives remain pure and keep me on course, 'due North'.

 In general I endeavor:

  • to keep my compass due North, by continually cultivating my relationship with God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit through prayer, worship, the reading of His Word, and fellowship
  • to 'walk the walk' not simply talk the talk
  • to express and exude His love and compassion to all He brings into my life
  • to lift those who are under heavy burdens
  • as I walk in His love and mercy grow in wisdom, maintaining healthy boundaries personally and professionally
  • to be a significant bridge-builder for His purposes and the betterment of others
  • to continually grow in and develop into the fullness of who He has made me to be, cultivating my gifts and talents in order to better serve others
  • to continually grow in effective time management – that the time I spend is reflective of my mission, purpose and priorities

I strive to be -  in thought, word and deed an ambassador of the love of Christ, expressed according to the standard of love that He sets forth in the Bible:

 Love is patient and kind.

Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude.

Love does not demand its own way.

Love is not irritable, and it keeps no record of when it has been wronged.

It is never glad about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out.

Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
