Viet Nam is more than the American-Vietnamese war that ended April 30th, 1975. After, warring continued in Cambodia until 1989, and then not until 1994, when the trade embargoes were lifted, has the country had some rest and peace and food. today, the average age is 23, and the people are experiencing opportunites they and their families haven't had, such as the basics, in a long time. Even though life is far from perfect, it is better, and the people, at least the younger ones, have a renewed faith in their country and in their lives that is touching to see. I know refugees who have returned to Viet Nam to build businesses with their families, etc. I hope the best for Viet Nam, and I urge people to realize that although there has been an incredible amount of suffering, there is hope as well. The Vietnamese are some of the most beautiful people i've ever met. I had family that served in the war over in Viet Nam, but it and its people are so much more than the wars they've endured over the long, long periods of time.
