My father fought in the war as a Marine in 67 and 68.He was wouded in the Tet offense(Da Nang) and lost his right eye. His heart is allways heavy about the war. He has made ammends with himself. He says Vietnam is a beautiful country. Who knew that 20 years later his daughter(me) married a Vietnamese politcal refugee. My husband left Vietnam with his 4 brothers and 1 sister and both parents in April 1975. His father was a Colonel with ARVN and at one time a personal secretary to President Diem. He taught his children and grandchildren good work ethics and the love of your country. And never spoke ill of the US. In 1991? My father took my husband to the commission of the U.S.S. Hue in Biloxi, Missippi. My husband and i had 2 children before his death in 1997. My husband and his family loved Vietnam very much and miss their famalies very much. My Father and Father-in-Law are very honorable men. They did not just do their duty. But tried to preserve their future prosterity no matter the results. They did more that just duty. And what I feel is above romances of war. God was and is with them both and preserved their lifes. And the ones that lost their lifes are allways with us in our heart and minds. I am trying to piece what i can for my children enything of Vietnam. Thank you for the photos so I can show them their fathers Country since he had few photos when he left.
