I run a non-profit organization for Vietnamese adoptees and their families, can identify with the call to action for Vietnamese to help fellow Vietnamese. My parents adopted from Vietnam last year much to the bewilderment of the Vietnamese community. There is still a strong stigma against Vietnamese adopting even though it's seen as saintly should Caucasians/Americans adopt. My parents did not do this out of charity rather as a way to expand out family. My sister and I are out of the house, they are successful, and in the position to raise another child. I encourage Vietnamese-Americans who are interested in helping orphans in Vietnam to consider adoption or donating to adoption agencies and orphanages. Be sure to check if the money is going directly to the orphanage. Please feel free to visit my webpage on my organization called Mam Non for a list of agencies and resources, http://www.mamnon.org.
