Shrines

Temple at Phan Rang

From Donald T.Brown, on Sat, 09 Nov 2002 00:56:39 GMT (in response to: Going "Bats" in the Cham Temples)

The Cham temple at Phan Rang was deserted when we arrived at Pahn Rang in 1965. We used the area west of the temple as gravel pit. Just north of the Temple, between the Temple and the road was what we were told was a cematery. There were small stones of some kind and low mounds of earth.
I have a number of pictures of the temple and also some post cards that were produced in the area showing the temple. It was always a spookey place even for us.
I will say that even back then, we did make an effort not to disterb the area if at all possable and for a bunch of engineers these people actually took pains to see that no harm came to this place.
I was with 'B' company 62nd Engineers, and we arrived in Phan Rang about August "65"
