I was there 12/67-6/69

From Bob "Marti" Martinez, on Wed, 23 May 2001 17:33:57 GMT (in response to: i remember 1969)

I was at Phan Rang in the 35th Supply Squadron. I remember not getting hit that often, but we did. I also remember June 7, 1969 at about 4 p.m. when we got rocketted and one rocket hit near the Supply barracks right at the foot of the MARS station hill, another by the clothing store, one in front of the Post Office, another by the Security Police barracks and the last one by the Personnel office. I also remember when the sappers came through the wire and killed nine of our Security Police in Early 1969, and when the police captured nine of the Viet Cong I heard the base commander just ordered the shot, because they had killed some of ours. During this attack we lost a helicopter pilot and a maintenance airman from the 615th.
