There's a temple on a plain north of route 9 (the road to Khe Sanh) west of Quang Tri and Cua Viet but well before you get to the foothills, south of the DMZ. It's forever in a free fire zone in my mind. More than once my cav troop used it for .50 Cal., arty and tank gun target practice as we sat on a ridgeline a few klicks north and west. We weren't FNG's at the time, just bored with blocking positions.
