I left Vietnam when I was two years old. I was raised in America all my life, and never thought much about my homeland. I blended into the American cultures and way of life never question my birthplace and homeland. What made me different from my other companions was I had the thirst for knowledge, therefore I practiced reading and writing vietnamese at a young age. My two decades of living in America had made me think alot about Vietnam. Vietnam maybe a place of poverty, hunger, and lack of education, but my people never stopped caring for their elders and families. The way of living, unchanged, respect and dignity the standards of life. Alot of Americans seem to take for granted what they have, abuse it or just don't in full account the responsibilities of life. Vietnam, a country where people suffering from poverty, still caring for their elders and make use of what they have no matter the outcome. I never returned to Vietnam, but soon in the near future. People should respect Vietnam, than to make unknown remarks to our people and disregard this topic and sweep the shattered remnants of memories under the rug. The war is over, all the wars are over, people must learn the truth, respect their country. As long as vietnmese blood flows through us, our homeland should not be forgotten.
