I worked in Accounting and Finance and remember the morning of the crash. My understanding was that the pilot was a general's son and he was doing a hot-dog manuver over the runway. The plane got half way through it's rollover and fell from the sky. It was full of insecticide and exploded on impact. The pilot had a finance who worked on the base and they were going to be married as soon as they got back. His father sent in a private plane to take his body home. They did a fly over during the memorial ceremony with the missing man formation.
It was sad that good men died for the sake of one stupid manuver.
