I was there in the Supply Squadron from 12/67 to 6/69. I remember winning the softball championshipgame against Red Horse. Those guys had power, but we had the pitching of Smitty, the all-Air Force softball pitcher, and Don from the Colorado National Guard who together put a great demonstration of pitching. I played right field. I remember the first time we got hit from what everyone was telling me we had never gotten hit before, I don't know if this is true or not, but I know that we got hit that night. It was the night the 101st Airborn left our base in 1968. I remember the explosions at the flight line when the rockets hit the loaded planes, and when the sappers went through the wire and blew up some planes. They got caught and got shot. I remember the new theater, but never went to it. I remember eating "french fries" at the snack bar by the theater. Remember the ration cards? I had great times at the beach. Once I almost got stabbed at Phan Rang city by a punk. We chased him and a Vietnamese army soldier shot in the air and everybody hit the ground. I had some interesting times. Anyone out there from Supply?
